The week ending Dec. 4 at 6 am had its weather challenges for Jefferson residents. A winter storm warning the promised both rain and snow Monday resulted in a day out of school for students and teachers. Jefferson received both, but not as much as was predicted. Total in that weather system was .4 inch of rain and 0.3 inch of snow. Total for the week was .44 inch of precipitation and .9 inch of snow.
Volunteer weather observer John Beltz reported a high temperature of 40 degrees at the end of the week and a low temperature of 19 degrees, also at the end of the week.
